This textbook was given to me as a present. I was told it was a "different" kind of textbook. And indeed it is. Different than any textbook I have read during and since my college and graduate school days. I actually enjoyed reading it. I read it in one day, but found myself coming back to it again and again to analyze and reflect on the author's thoughtful discussion of the essential issues that affect our lives -- the "economic foundations of American national security," if you will. One need not be an economist (or even an economics student) to appreciate the depth and clarity with which the material is presented. I believe our national public discourse will benefit greatly if a book like this were required reading! I give the book five stars even though I think the price charged is too high.
