I consider my review particularly useful, because I have used probably every Mongolian textbook and language instruction available in the English language. I've used all the ones used by the Universities and the few large and renowned grammars available as well. Although each book has some things good about them, they all seemed to focus on grammar explanation only, with limited dialogues and texts in the language, so there were really few examples. But when I started using Survival Mongolian, and I've used both the first edition and this current even more updated edition, I felt that I had found what I had been looking for. A book with enough necessary grammar explanations, but also lots and lots of real examples of Modern real life Mongolian. There are also notes on culture, and the differences in usage between written and spoken, academic and colloquial Mongolian forms. Professor Batjargal is a well known teacher in the online Mongolian community and I am so pleased to see that she has used her talent and experience to write us this insightful language instruction. Thank you!
